Rakuten has recently received reports that several people have been offered online-only sales jobs by individuals who are not affiliated with us.
It appears that these fraudsters access resumes uploaded to third-party career sites, contact job seekers and falsely claim that they are hiring on behalf of Rakuten. To further the scam, they have established fake hiring websites like joinrakuten.com.
Victims have been asked for personal banking or digital payments information, which may be used to commit financial and identity fraud against them.
BE ADVISED THAT THESE OFFERS OF EMPLOYMENT AND THE SITES ADVERTISING THEM ARE FRAUDULENT.
All current, legitimate Rakuten job openings can be found at the Rakuten Careers page. Beware of any online-only job offers purported to be from Rakuten that are not listed on this site.
Rakuten job applicants are never required to share financial information or pay for training, testing or background checks. Rakuten employees only communicate with job applicants from a Rakuten.com email address and will not be interviewed on chat software.
If you have communicated with someone purporting to offer an online-only position at Rakuten that is not listed on the Rakuten Careers page, we recommend that you immediately cease communication with them and take steps to protect the integrity of your financial accounts and identity.
